WHEN CAN YOU WORK? Our spring season runs from Monday, March 24, through Friday, May 2, and may extend another week to May 9. This includes AA Public Schools spring break. We work 9-4, M-F. We need people who can work all of this time (give or take a day or two). Can you? 2. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OUR FALL SEASON, TOO? We hope our packers will come back and help us with our 8-week fall shipping season, Sept. 22 - Nov. 14. We’re not asking for a firm commitment, but how interested are you in working with us then, too? 3. ARE YOU UP TO THE PHYSICAL DEMANDS? Packers are on their feet all day on a cement floor in the COLD. We try to keep the barn between 40 and 50 degrees. Some running up and down stairs is also required. Light lifting (less than 5 pounds) is CONSTANT with intermittent requirements of up to 40 pounds. Space is very tight. Please tell us about your experience with similar physical demands. 4. HOW FAST AND ACCURATE ARE YOU? We promise our customers great service and great bulbs. That means we’ll push you to work fast and we’ll count on you to be accurate. What experience do you have working in a time-pressured, complex, demanding environment? 5. ARE YOU AN AVID FLOWER GARDENER? You’ll find working with us more rewarding and you’ll do a better job if you’re a gardener. Please tell us about your gardening interests and experience. 6. WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE OUR SHIPPER? Our shipper works mostly alone, also in a cold room, handling 100-150 boxes a day. Most are under 5 pounds, but every day there are a couple 40-pounders. Space is very tight and keeping everything organized is a challenge. After weighing each box, our shipper must access the UPS and USPS web sites to check the address, choose the correct rate, and print a label.
